Re-enactment of the battle of Stranakirka

There was great excitement in Meenaneary and Stranakirka on Tuesday 22 June with re-enactment of the story of when Colmcille first arrived to the Glencolmcille area with his friend Cearc and the battle that ensued in Stranakirka with those from the neighbouring parish.
Despite the bad weather it was a very enjoyable evening and the organizers were delighted to see such a crowd.
