A storm with wind gusts of up to 120km/hr is set to hit tomorrow, Met Eireann has said.

The forecaster has issued an Orange Alert warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo as Storm Abigail arrives.

"Southerly winds, later veering southwest then west, with mean speeds of 55 to 80 km/h, will gust between 100 and 120 km/h. Winds will be strongest near coastal areas, peaking Thursday evening into early Thursday night," says the forecaster.

The alert is Valid from Thursday 12 November 2015 09:00 to Friday 13 November 2015 06:00.

An Orange alert means people should prepare for disruption, with possible power failures.
