Jump Out of It - Album Launch

Aisling Drost Byrne from Glencolmcille grew up immersed in the rich fiddle tradition of her local area in Southwest Donegal. Her playing is firmly rooted in the unique style and repertoire passed down to her by her late father, James ‘An Beirneach’ Byrne and she brings her own distinctive energy and creativity to his legacy.

Brendan McCarthy grew up in the heart of Sliabh Luachra and his grounding in the music of North Cork has been complimented by his immersion in the accordion styles of modern English masters, such as Andy Cutting and Karen Tweed. He has developed a unique approach to bass-work and plays a specially designed Castagnari accordion which allows for versatile bass playing.

Conal O’Kane from Philadelphia originally played fiddle before focusing on guitar, which gives him an unusual insight into both the melodic and harmonic structures of a large repertoire of tunes. In addition to his busy touring schedule with the band Goitse, he is also a guitar tutor at the University of Limerick. Conal plays a Conor Casey guitar.
